Join us for A Taste of Gozo – a delightful day exploring Gozo’s cultural treasures, culinary traditions, and stunning landscapes. From baroque architecture to hands-on ftira making in a 150-year-old wood-burning oven, this tour offers a true taste of the island’s heritage.
Itinerary
8:30 am – Meet at Valletta Fast Ferry Terminal
We’ll gather at the Valletta Fast Ferry terminal to catch the 8:45 am ferry to Gozo. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic 45-minute crossing.
9:30 am – Arrive in Mġarr and Board Minivan
Upon arrival, our private minivan will take us through Gozo’s picturesque countryside to start our day.
9:45 am – Morning Coffee at Milano Moka
We’ll stop for a refreshing coffee and snack at the charming Milano Moka café – the perfect spot to soak in the island atmosphere.
10:15 am – Visit the Restored Baroque Chapel in Xewkija
Explore the beautifully restored baroque chapel hidden within Xewkija’s iconic parish church. Discover the fascinating history behind this architectural gem.
11:00 am – Ftira-Making Experience in Xagħra
The highlight of our tour: a hands-on ftira-making session using traditional methods in a 150-year-old wood-burning oven. Learn about Gozo’s culinary heritage and enjoy the delicious results for lunch.
2:15 pm – Visit the Toy Museum
Step back into childhood with a visit to Gozo’s unique Toy Museum, showcasing toys from bygone eras that evoke nostalgia and curiosity.
2:45 pm – Explore the Xagħra Windmill
Discover the historic Xagħra Windmill, a testament to Gozo’s rural traditions, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
3:30 pm – Afternoon Tea with a View
We’ll enjoy a leisurely walk down to Astrid’s home for tea, cakes, and a chance to relax while taking in the tranquil Gozitan surroundings.
4:15 pm – Depart for Mġarr Harbour
We’ll head back to the harbour to catch the 4:45 pm Fast Ferry back to Valletta.
5:30 pm – Arrive in Valletta
We’ll return to Valletta, enriched with wonderful memories of Gozo’s unique flavours, stories, and landscapes.
